Minor update to gear rankings.  Higher item level items will be favored more heavily now.  In most cases this gets closer to an "optimal" setup, and should be sufficient until we implement more precise stat weights.

Some minor bug fixes:
- The enhancement shaman list will no longer contain daggers
- A couple of items that did not make it into the live game were removed
- A few stats were missing in the stat preferences for certain classes: they have been added


A more comprehensive update will follow in approximately 1 week that contains several new features.

Update to fix some minor bugs:

- added check for old browser versions (you MUST have a new browser to use this site!)
- can now load characters from azjol-nerub!
- fixed error where tanking gems would sometimes cause an error (parry, dodge, etc.)
- fixed bug causing reforges to not appear on some trinkets
- fixed bug causing an inappropriate weapon filter to be remembered sometimes when switching between classes/specs
- fixed bug allowing 2 of the same cogwheel to be equipped simultaneously
- fixed minor sizing/display issue for android users (note that we do not officially support smartphones, but it appears to be more or less usable)
- added weight for strength to enhancement shamans
- added code to help prevent browser caching issues when we update the website

update with minor tweaks and bug fixes


- fixed bug causing optimizer to use too many jc gems sometimes
- fixed bug causing dk tanking runeforge to not show up correctly
- fixed bug causing the screen to jitter while loading sometimes
- fixed some minor layout issues on mobile devices/ipad
- for now, it is assumed that all protection/ret paladins have glyph of seal of truth:
  we are not currently parsing a player's actual glyphs from the armory -- we will add that in a future update
- added old wotlk cloak/glove agility enchants
- you can load characters from the Area 52 realm now!
- corrected a bug that was overestimating the value of the 3% AP T11 set bonuses
- improved the code that attempts to balance equivalent stats (e.g. dodge and parry)
- enabled code that forces darkmoon card: hurricane to be considered BiS for dw frost, and for pre-raid enhancement shamans
- added food and flasks to the default raid buffs:
  food is always your best primary stat, except tanks:
  bear: agility
  other tanks: parry
  for now these are hard-coded and will not change with your stat weights
- improved the meta gem activation algorithm: the old version was sometimes ignoring socket bonuses
- changed gem optimization algorithm slightly to allow more generous use of +hit gems in blue sockets with good socket bonuses
- added "base" parry and dodge values for death knights, around 4% dodge and 5% parry, based on observation;
  the only other "base" value currently in the stat totals is dodge for bears, and spell/physical crit for
  all classes.  we'll add more base dodge/parry values if people want to give us the info, otherwise it's not
  a big deal, as it has zero effect on the optimizer outcome.

- fixed a bug where the BiS lists would sometimes not account for Nerves of Cold Steel
- added a couple more old WotLK enchants that are still good
- added earthen vitality to the list of possible boot enchants; though it's cheap, at the moment we have not shifted to using this as the default for dps classes without a speed increase... have to investigate further
- if our optimization algorithm comes up with a worse reforging combination than your current gear (rare but possible -- one person so far has done it, gratz to nijeak of mal'ganis!), it will no longer flag your current setup as suboptimal

- fixed some minor bugs with ranged weapon enchants
- fixed an issue causing the displayed stat totals to be slightly off sometimes
- note that there is a minor issue with the optimizer causing hit rating totals in particular to come out a tad high on the BiS lists when using an item with cogwheel sockets; still investigating
- if you have an enchant on your gear already that is better than your selected filters, the optimizer will use your current enchant

the site is 4.0.6 ready!  there may be a few anomalies on patch day while the armory and our cache get in sync, but it should be ironed out by wednesday morning.

Please note that many of the 4.0.6 stat weights are a work in progress, and will be tweaked over the next couple of days as more data comes in.

- made an improvement to a previous improvement... that ended up not being an improvement, but is now an actual improvement, to the optimization algorithm.  it's way too complicated to explain, just roll with it -- if hit or spell hit totals have seemed a bit off the last couple days, they won't be anymore

- made a minor improvement to the optimization algorithm that will sometimes make a slightly better choice of enchant/reforge combos
- fixed a bug that was multiplying devotion aura by armor multipliers in the stat display
- fixed a bug causing armor from enchants and trinkets to be valued too highly because multipliers were being applied: armor multipliers do not apply to things like the cloak enchant, armor on trinkets, or armor from trinket procs
- parry/dodge gained from trinket procs are no longer reported in the "parry from gear" or "dodge from gear" stats, nor are they considered when balancing parry/dodge to reduce the effects of diminishing returns.
  note that the plain "parry" and "dodge" stats DO include the averaged value of your trinket procs
  note that strength procs still have the parry gained averaged into "parry from gear", it is a bit complicated to separate that out: the effect is small though, and it is rare that a +str proc trinket is all that valuable to a tank, that we think it's OK to ignore it for now

- we have reset our armory cache for items that have changed in 4.0.6, let us know if we missed anything
- many stat weights have been tweaked for 4.0.6
- several trinket proc estimates have been updated and improved -- we always welcome more data on trinkets!
- fixed a bug causing permalinks with explicit negative stat weights to link to the wrong weights
- we are aware that something funky happened with bear druid armor in the patch... waiting to see if anything more official is said about it
- fixed an issue that sometimes prevented users from clicking on advertisements (I know, you all must have been heartbroken, but come on, we have fun ads!)

Armory loading should be working again! 

At approximately 7AM today, Mr. Robot woke me up and told me that his ex-girlfriend, wowarmory.com, simply refused to speak to him anymore.  So, after an hour or two of complaining, he convinced me to write brand new code and give him an introduction to wowarmory's hot younger sister, battle.net!  They seem to be hitting it off.

Let me know if you notice any unusual behavior.

- updated the mandala of stirring patterns
- fixed a bug causing the wrong faction-specific items to be shown sometimes when changing races
- the old +100 intellect enchant should no longer load for players, though you may need to reload your character from the armory (which is unavailable currently, grrrr)
- added an editable soft cap on haste for hunters: we do not put any cap in our default weights yet, we need to do more research on the topic.  You can customize your own weights as you see fit in the meantime.
- earthen vitality will be the default "not expensive" boot enchant for all classes that do not have a run speed increase of some kind already.  Most people agree that some kind of move speed increase is worth losing 50 rating of a single stat.
- added inscription caster relics

- note there is a small bug if you hit reload for your character and it fails for whatever reason, hitting reload a 2nd time gives an error: simply refresh the web page to get around that for now

So... unbeknown to us, Mr. Robot was casually leveling his goblin shredder this morning (don't ask how he got it as a playable character), and he got ganked by a death knight 30 levels higher than him.  I guess shredders are weak to ice or something, or so Mr. Robot claims.

Long story short, he rage-deleted the code that loads DKs.  We have calmed him down, and you can once again load DKs from the armory!

- you can now load characters with no professions too!
- added a tanking gun drop that is now obtainable with 4.0.6
- fixed a bug where clicking on reload twice sometimes causes an error if the first reload failed for some reason (armory not available, timeout, etc.)
- an image was missing for one of our promotions

We took one server offline -- let us know if you experience any unusual slowness on the site.

- fixed a bug where special symbols in character names would cause the web page to reload twice
- update to a couple items: tyrande's doll thingy, a few others
- updated stat weights for unholy dks, resto druids, sub rogues, enhancement shamans, protection paladins
- mirror of broken images has been added... note that the BiS lists will probably not pick it or rate it highly, because we haven't decided how to estimate the on-use effect yet; you can "lock" it into your BiS list by simply clicking the '...' icon by a trinket slot and choosing it explicitly.
- fixed a bug where diminishing returns on avoidance were not being applied to weights on agility for tanks
- note that there is a minor bug where the optimizer will in rare cases suggest parry->dodge and dodge->parry reforges that more or less cancel each other out; it's harmless, but will cost you a couple extra gold ;)

More stat weight updates and tweaks for 4.0.6 are coming over the next few days, check back often!

Let us know if the site runs slow at all today -- we tweaked the servers a bit.

- fixed a bug with url getting truncated in some cases
- fixed bug when equipping two of the same item (e.g. weapons)
- fixed bug where reforges on random enchanted items would sometimes not load from the armory
- fixed AP total for DKs including too much AP from bladed armor
- couple other minor bug fixes... but my forum ate my post, so I don't remember them!

- added code to dynamically scale the value of mastery for protection warriors; stat weights for prot warriors should be created as if you have 32% block and 14% critical block (roughly what you'd have with no extra stats from gear) -- the code automatically scales it up from there
- fixed a bug causing the armory cache for characters to sometimes get out of sync and load old versions of characters
- reforges to spirit are now considered as options for enhancement shamans with elemental precision
- updated stat weights for protection warriors

- fixed a performance bug causing optimization to run a bit slowly, particularly for tanks
- fixed a bug where players with lavawalker or assassin's step on boots would sometimes have earthen vitality suggested as an 'upgrade'
- fixed a bug where changing gear would not update the score or show the armory tab if you load a character that is already optimal
- fixed a bug where loading a character with gems that have a high score, but an inactive meta, would not suggest re-gemming to activate the meta
- fixed a bug causing too many JC gems to be used in certain cases
- minor tweak to feral cat stat weights based on latest version of MEW
- major improvement to feral bear stat weights; a post describing the changes in detail will also be made
