Azerite gear options and AMR

(I hope this is a simple one, last one I asked turned out not to be…)

In Legion we had to actually use the Crucible so AMR could see the options on relics. In BfA, are options on Azerite gear already known, or do we have to open each one so AMR can see it?

Thankfully WoW addons can read azerite information at any time, so you don’t need to worry about it this time around.
