Best in Bags Broken?

Hi,

I don’t think best in bags is working with the Soul of the Huntmaster ring. It’s pretty much the best legendary along with trueshot boots and gyro gloves for MM hunters, and BIB recommends trueshot boots and kil’jaedens burning wish lol. Also, the Cos Arc two set isn’t ranking high enough in BIB. My manually optimized gear is beats best in bags by around 50K dps in the simulator. I kinda feel like BIB isn’t taking into account that the Soul of the Huntmaster gives an extra talent. Any other hunters having these issues?

I liked AMR pre 7.2.5 but since then BIB just hasn’t been working well. (the main feature I like on AMR)

Picking legendary items is a tough problem that we are working on. It requires a lot of data. We are creating “version 3” gearing strategies for all the specs. Those pick legendary items with more accuracy. There is a post in the announcements section that shows which specs are completed already.

Until the marksman one is done, our suggestion is to create a custom gearing strategy for your character with the legendary items you wish to use. Doing that will give BiB the data necessary to optimize your character with lower margin of error.

The reason it seems like things changed with 7.2.5 is because our default gearing strategy before the patch was based on a character with no legendary or set items. This resulted in picking at least one legendary that people expect most of the time, but it still couldn’t pick combos that well. The stats suggested were often not what people expected because sets and legendary items change the stats. For 7.2.5 we made defaults that assumed the most common legendary items and set bonuses. These pick the stats people expect, but they can’t really pick legendary items - they assume you pretty much already know what legendary items you want to use and want to optimize around them.

We have some UI updates in the works too that should help clarify a lot of this.
