Can't Import from Addon to Site

Since 8.2 came out I can no longer import the string from the addon to the site to do best in bags. It gives an error " The region, realm, or name could not be read from the provided import string."

This is the string my addon gives me (my character is Freezerbern on US-Wyrmrest Accord). Is the “EU” in my string referring to Europe instead of US? Not sure why it is doing that if so.

You’re right, that’s probably the issue.

As far as i know, there is no way for an addon to reliably get the region you’re playing in. On its very first launch the client writes the region to the config.wtf file but this value never changes afterwards.
Generally speaking this will be fine as most people won’t change the region they’re playing in but if you’re e.g. using settings (i.e. a WTF folder) from someone in another region because those have been provided by an addon pack, your config.wtf may include the wrong region.

You should be able to fix this yourself by opening the config.wtf file within your WoW/_retail_/WTF folder and changing the line SET portal "EU" to SET portal "US".

You’ve probably imported addon settings from someone who plays on an EU server.

You’re not the first and probably not the last

Indeed, the region was set to EU on config.wtf, I didn’t even thin about the UI set up I just copied over from a person from the UK doing something like that since it didn’t touch the actual AMR folder. Thanks!
