Don/t Get BiB Recommendation

Sometimes I wonder about BiB. Yesterday, it thought my current equipment was just fine running BiB. Today in my M+ cache I get a 930 belt. Am wearing a 930 belt, 792 crit, 594 vers. The new one is 991 haste, 396 vers. Curious if replacing the crit with haste will do. Eeek, instead of actually answering that question, BiB has me equipping 2 more T20 pieces I have in my bank. One is not even heroic. Drops my overall lvl by 3 points. Changes my stats as follows:

I do not get this. In what universe do I need so much more mastery?

You have been around the forums for a while brightbrown… you know what I’m going to say…

I need your addon export string to reproduce what you are seeing, then I can give you a more detailed answer as to why it is choosing what it is choosing. I also need to know which gearing strategy you are using.

Looking only at how stats change is not the whole story. You probably just answered your own question already… it picked up another set bonus. Set bonuses have value that is separate from stats.

Sorry, I keep thinking that you can just as easily pick up my data that is already stored on your system. Strategy is adaptive, single target. I MAYBE can conceive of a 4 pc bonus carrying some weight, BUT I have had those 2 additional tier pieces for many weeks now. Like I said, the ONLY difference is a “new” belt that swapped crit out and haste in, I was just lookming to see if you thought the haste was better than the crit, but BiB veered off in an awfully odd direction, one that it did not travel to over the past week or so.

What BiB suggests vs what you have on literally has a difference of 2k dps. BiB trys to find the best combination within 2% margin of error. It is literally impossible that BiB would know the difference between the two sets.

The only way you’re going to get the level of accuracy that you want is by doing batch sims.

(Not to mention that you would likely NEVER be able to reproduce that difference, your play style has a bigger range than 2k DPS)

2k DPS is a ridiculously small difference, to the point that you have to consider them identical or “too close to call” for any practical purpose. The optimizer is doing a excellent job here – it is able to tell with very high accuracy that two sets of gear with different stats and special effects will simulate to near-identical DPS. But being an optimizer, it’s going to suggest the one that is slightly higher, even if just slightly.
