Hi all,

I’m STILL getting crit suggestions for prot pally. Like no.

There is no set stat priority. Many different combinations of stats will yield optimal or near-optimal results. We stopped using simple stat priorities and stat weights a long time ago. Our gearing strategies are based off of millions of simulations we have already done. The optimizer finds the best setup that you have the gear for and puts you as close to that as possible. In short: we pick the gear we do because that is what simulates best for you.

AMR are - AFAIK - the only optimisation reference that adopts this approach: that said, BiB, etc does allow you to override the suggestions given to customise the results you get.
If you disable the Azerite/Gem & Enchant thresholds, you get the harshest - for want of another word - re-optimisation; then you can interrogate each & every gem/Trait, etc to see what your own favoured stat priority would give you by way of comparison.

You may want to factor in whether you have set the AMR optimisation to work with Protection as the top of the spec. list for BiB - yes; it matters; if Protection is #2 or 3 on the list (to the left of the BiB panel) then whatever is top of that list is what’s taken to be top priority.

All said & done, I’m not trying to preach to you, only reinforce what some miss about how the site works… plus outline some of the core optimisation functionality (@swol quote) that many who come here may not realise.
