AMR Customize Options Broken

So, I set up the Customize Azerite Options in my BiB as such:
Stack to 3 Furious Gaze -15 iLvls
Exactly 1 Eyes of Rage -15 iLvls
Exactly 1 Chaotic Transformation -15 iLvls
Exactly 1 Revolving Blades -15 iLvls

It picks up everything except the Chaotic Transformation. Which I have a 450 helm with Furious + Chaotic on it and it keeps trying to have me wear a 465 iLvl helm with Furious Gaze + Thirsting Blade. It’s within the 15 iLvl threshold, but it keeps wanting me to change my 450 helm for this 465 helm. I even set the threshold to be -20 iLvls and it still reports the same.

I’ve deleted the rule and re-optimized, then put the rule back in, but it refuses to take it. I also had a LOT of issues getting it to accept using Eyes of Rage for the Demonic Appetite Talent build. Which is why I have to use the Custom set-up in the first place. It refuses to give me Eyes of Rage when using Demonic Appetite Talent, which is a big DPS gain for a 1-of when simmed (even when using the AMR sims doing gear comparison)

Can you use the help link to generate a snapshot id? Then I can see your exact rules as you’ve made them and any other settings you have.

If you move the rule to get 3 furious gaze to the bottom of your azerite rules, it does what you want. The optimizer is getting a little hung up for some reason on your rules.

It would be more optimal to use the tortured fleshbeast cuirass to pick up chaotic transformation.

I’m not sure what simulations you are running… I see very little difference between your currently equipped setup, and the default BiB suggestion, and the modified BiB after I updated the rule.

Those are all pretty much within margin of error of each other, which explains why the optimizer isn’t picking your preferred traits by default. It is finding a solution that is as good as your custom solution, according to the simulation data. Of course you might prefer certain traits in-game for particular situations, moments, preference - that is what the customize feature is there for!

Yea, I prefer Chaotic b/c it’s better than some other traits when I need to perform some AoE (M+, Hivemind, etc) and not wanting to swap up an entire thing. I put 3/3 Furious Gaze at the top b/c I assume that’s it’s #1 priority, which is the most important thing for me. And that’s why I did set up Custom Rules, but it’s not following the rule set, which is awkward and why I reported it.

I’m just not sure why it can’t get there without swapping the priority of the rules. I definitely value 3/3 FG > everything else, so I definitely want that. I actually played with priority more and leaving FG #1, putting CT as #2 switches it in the way you mentioned. I’m just curious as to why it being above Eyes of Rage does anything at all to that piece.

The Old helm/chest does not contain Eyes of Rage, nor does the new ones. So, why does it interfere at all with the selection process? I could understand if EoR was on either piece and the program was giving it preferred treatment, but EoR is on the shoulders (highest iLvl of all my pieces) and doesn’t seem right that it causes something like that to happen.

As far as simming goes, I typically look at ST sims first, then look at what changes I would need to make for big AoE, then I hedge the bet in the middle. Since many of the bosses in Ny are Multi-targets, but still have a Primary focus involved. So, things like Eyes of Rage and Chaotic serve me better from the extra AoE I get to pull. So, I find it easier to primarily gear towards killing a Priority Target, but not neglecting times I can gain some benefits from Cleave.

Yes, that all sounds reasonable - that’s why we have the customize option. I was just pointing out that the optimizer, by default, is behaving well in that it follows the simulation data very closely.

As far as why it isn’t quite picking what you expect with the rules how you had them at first - that’s hard to say. The code to follow the custom rules is difficult. Custom rules essentially add an “arbitrary” element into the scoring of a set of gear. We end up with a lot of ambiguous situations where it is difficult to actually determine which set of gear “scores” higher than another.
