[Paladin] AMR suggesting a tank neck enchant for DPS main spec

I have read this post and still have a question.

My question is:
Why is AMR not suggesting to change my tank enchant (Mark of the Heavy Hide) on my neck for a DPS one, when Ret is my main spec? I have disabled the BiB Score Threshold option in the filter. I have had tank as my main spe for ages, and wanted to change it; surely that can’t be what is confusing it?

Something even dumber just happened. If I switch the main spec in BiB to Prot, then it suggests a DPS neck enchant; this is still whilst in Ret spec on the actual site… Something seems broken.

Could you post the string you get from the add-on? No doubt AMR will want it to debug, but it means I can run it for you as well and see if I get the same weird results.

I’m having trouble using those strings. It looks like the start of several have been stuck together and the site just doesn’t accept it. Would you mind double checking?

For changing specs I’ve seen Yellow advise to others that you sometimes need to switch to all 3 of your specs so that the add-on updates everything properly. That might be worth a go as well.

I just edited my previous post to remove the quotes, in case that was the issue. I’ll try switching specs now, and see if that makes a difference.

In AMR, do my gearing strategies matter for prot and ret? I am making sure I am in Ret spec in AMR, and choosing the single target strat. Since I’m telling AMR to have Ret as main, surely the Prot gearing strategy wont matter?

Still getting the same error. It might be worth clearing it and re-pasting from the add-on.

I meant literally changing your spec from the Talents page in game, i.e. go to Holy, Prot then Retri (or any order). Once that’s done re-export from the add-on.

If that doesn’t work, I’m sure one of the AMR team will be able to help instead. I think they’re West Coast (so UTC-8) and are probably still asleep :p.

That string works now. Yeah I see what you mean now about the enchant.

I found a similar query on Discord from someone asking a similar question (their issue was the other way around - they wanted to get a tank enchant). Swol explained that your current enchant basically sticks, I think the intention being that if you have just one neck item you can intentionally keep the enchant on it for a different spec. If you go to the Bugs Are Not Real channel, and skip back to 20/09/2017 you’ll see the rest of the conversation. (Or search for “neck enchants” and it should be easy to find.)

If you equip any other neck item (or none), re-export, and then rerun BiB then it’ll show the proper enchant for you again. Rerunning BiB will then pick your best neck and put a proper enchant on it.

It’s all Swol mentioned, so I assume it only affects these specific ones. For dps enchants I’ve often had it suggest to change my current enchant.

I know there’s a longer term plan to deal with multiple specs in a different way (including single vs. multi target for DPS), so hopefully it get’s picked up then, if not before.

The original export strings were not working because those are the ones you copy from the website to the addon, and use a different format than the one you copy from the addon to the website.

I checked this out, looks like there was a small bug in some code that is supposed to protect against your enchant settings causing the optimizer to put on a lower quality enchant than your current enchant. I’ll fix that in the next update.
