There’s should be a law against recommending Norgs for mage, these are the absolute worse legendary you can equip, in fact I actually had them on and was removed from group for having them equipped with a note “git gud” L2choosegoodlengedaries.

We factor in the value of all legendaries. Could you give me more detail, best would be an addon export string (the data you copy from the addon to the website), and then I can recreate the gear recommendation it gave you and try it out.

I have all the frost legendary items and for ST encounters it says I should be using Norgannon’s Foresight which is flat wrong. Even if I use SIMC Magtheridon’s Bracers / Shard sim 10k higher every time

Also, we don’t base our gear ranking on simc – we use our own simulator to simulate real fights, which we think is a better basis for gear advice. It will tend to give slightly different results. (10k is also a very small difference at the gear levels most people are at these days, usually in the 1% range).

Yeah it’s pretty close… there is about a 1.5% DPS difference between your current gear and the recommended gear.
For an instant answer that can test all of the billions of combinations of gear in your bag, it’s hard to get the margin of error much smaller than that. You could really go with whichever set of gear you prefer, they perform quite similarly.
In the near future we will be adding a couple of UI changes to make it clearer to people when there are multiple good sets of gear that are very close in value, and let you quickly and easily pick between them as you see fit.
