So for my raid setup it’s doing the Charged Slicer in my mainhand at 606 ilvl and Ansurek’s Final Judgement in my offhand at 619 ilvl.
First, shouldn’t the higher ilvl be in my mainhand?
Second, these two weapons are my best in slot (albeit not at their highest ilvl). In my M+ setup a different weapon is chosen as my offhand, one at a lower ilvl. Even selecting that slot manually shows that Ansurek’s is a higher dps weapon. What’s going on here?
Some strange behavior going on with the runeforging too. Runeforging is free, why is it forcing a different runeforge on my mainhand when it would be the same one i’d be using in my M+ setup?
This one was actually tough to track down… the issue with the weapons has to do with a bug activating the nerubian embellishment bonus on your Charged Slicer – sometimes it was getting turned on, sometimes not. We’ll fix that in an update later today.
As for your M+ setup… so what’s happening is that your raid setup wants stone/FC, but your M+ setup wants razorice/FC. So it does the best it can to accommodate both setups.
Now technically a DK could change runeforge on their weapons every time they change spec… but that’s not how we have it written currently. It wouldn’t cost any gold but it would be tedious depending on your situation. We could potentially make that an option though.
I personally wouldn’t mind it as an option… I raid 2 nights a week so any time outside of that I’d be in M+ mode. I could figure out something to remind myself to change runeforges.
Have these changes been implemented? I just got back from being out of state and trying to get caught up. Seems as though things are still behaving the same.
I didn’t add the new mode, but the bugs should be fixed as of our update 2 days ago. If you have a case where it still seems to be acting strange post a snapshot and I’ll take a look.
Seems like the weapon choices are correct for my raid setup, but for m+ it’s still suggesting lower dps items for my weapons. I presume this is still occurring due to the runeforging.
Yeah… so as explained above, the issue is that the optimizer won’t replace enchants that would conflict with a higher priority setup. One of those weapons will have fallen crusader, the other will have stoneskin gargoyle. Your M+ setup needs razorice on one of those… but it can’t do it, so it has to pick a different lower ilvl weapon.
You also have the complication of the embellishment on the charged slicer (which is getting doubled from the nerubian bonus via your wrist item). That will push its value up such that it’s actually better than your 619 item in most cases.
As mentioned before, we can look into adding a setting to ignore runeforges when looking at higher priority setups and allow swapping them, which should give you what you want. Until then, you can just replace the weapons in the optimization with your two highest ilvl weapons and put the proper runeforges on them (razorice/fc), should give a functionally identical result to the optimal setup.
I was able to get a little time here and post an update – on your M+ setup if you check the new “Allow Runeforge Swaps” option, it will ignore any runeforges chosen on higher priority setups and assume that you are OK with potentially swapping runeforges whenever you change setups in-game.
