My orc has a two handed axe and I have enough hit gear to reach 6%. Why would it recommend 5%?
It is not always optimal to be exactly at the hit cap – it really depends on what combinations of gear are available to you. Having 1% chance to miss while using overall stronger gear can result in better theoretical damage output.
That said, we are aware that many classic players would prefer to sacrifice a little damage for the guarantee that they will not miss 1 out of every 100 attacks. Thus we added the “stat threshold” customization feature, which it appears that you are using.
But… you have entered the wrong value.
If you read the tutorial linked right in the stat threshold section, it will explain that you want to enter 9% for your melee hit threshold, and even gives an example for orcs with an axe.
