Yeah someone else posted a similar case, I’m working on some ideas to prevent this from happening in the future (or at least warn people).
The problem is that your settings say to use no on-use trinkets (set to None). But… you have one on-use trinket equipped, and it is a good one!
Thus when the optimizer tries these items and then tries many combinations of items in your bag with them to try and get the best score possible… well, it has to obey your settings and find combinations with no on-use trinkets. All such combinations score worse than your equipped gear, which has a good on-use trinket.
Put another way, your current gear is an unfair and “invalid” comparison point, according to your settings. The easy fix for now is to set max on-use trinkets to 1, since you are using 1.
I’m going to try and automatically prevent this from happening in the future, but in general: we highly recommend that you make your settings at least as permissive as what you have already done on your own gear: if you have an on-use trinket, allow an on-use trinket. If you have tier 3 gems or enchants, allow tier 3 gems or enchants.
Ah, that makes sense, thanks! I think it would be good to fix this in terms of either preventing it from happening, or at least surfacing in the UI that “hey your gear is invalid so your results will be off”, but updating the settings is a fine workaround for now. It was an oversight on my end, I didn’t intend to set on-use to 0 and I didn’t realize since BIB still (seemingly) worked fine Anyway, I updated it now and I see upgrade suggestions again, so thanks!
We did post an update that should make it give better scores even in a case like this, e.g. if you set it back to “None” and run Upgrade Finder again just as a test, you should see better rankings now.
Hopefully that catches most (all?) of the cases where the max on-use setting could cause weird Upgrade Finder results, and I believe we have closed most of the loopholes with the gem/enchant settings as well.
