since Cata Classic I’ve been looking for an alternative to AMR. I was hoping they would continue with MoP Classic and just skip Cata, but since they won’t, I’m looking for a good alternative. I didn’t really like any of the ones that were recommended at the start of Cata.
Does anyone know of any alternatives worth checking out?
I hope the question is okay, since AMR isn’t being worked on for MoP.
The question is fine to ask. Unfortunately, no one else makes a gear optimizer like we do 
It is rather difficult to do true gear optimization. The closest you’ll get is something like using a simulator to compare a few hand-picked sets of gear. Another alternative is something like PAWN, which gives a rough estimate based on stat weights. But you will of course need to find the stat weights and figure out trinkets and set bonuses and the like some other way.
Lately, I have seen sites popping up that scrape combat logs to recommend the most popular gear to people. That’s another route, but is of course fairly limited in its ability to adapt to your current gear situation or chosen talents if they aren’t totally on-meta.
