Best in Slot - socket issue

The issue I am having is that Robot is showing Raal’s Bib, a 410 ilvl as my Best in Slot back item. This is likely due to the fact that it is socketed and it is being compared against non-socketed items.

Perhaps I’m missing something, but it seems like there should be an option to evaluate whether sockets are included in all Best in Slot items.

BiS looks at socketed items if you have that item with a socket.

There really isn’t any way to target am item with a socket, so we don’t worry about it for BiS unless you already have it.

I’m not sure I understand - it’s telling me that a 410 with a socket is BiS. There are clearly better options available. There are items with higher ilvl and identical stat distributions that COULD have sockets and would therefore be listed as BiS - but this is not occurring.

BiS only looks at items that do not have sockets or tertiary stats or warforges. The only exception is if you already have an item with a socket or tertiary stat or warforge, it will consider it.

Many, many items could be best in slot of you get a lucky roll. We don’t go there for the BiS. We used to, but it really made the list kind of useless. It will suggest that you get every item with a socket, of course! If you are willing to consider sockets on every item, you will get the same ranking as if you consider it on none. We think the most useful solution is to just rank what you happen to get.

That makes sense - so why then, if you click the ‘Exclude this item from Optimizations’ option it still shows up? Is it because it’s still the BiS due to the socket?

Do an export with a different cloak on and it will give you a list.
It seems to not exclude something if you’re wearing it, I noticed that last week.

Best in Slot will never ignore/exclude something that you currently have equipped. The idea there is… you already have it, so if it’s better than the other items you have made available… you should use it!

But the problem is that there are DEFINITELY going to be better available - if they simply proc a socket.
