Client auto update makes it broken

Every time after client attempts to auto update it became broken and doesn’t want to run again without downloading a whole zip from the site. It writes some about donnet not being installed. I’ve tried to install suggested runtime but it doesn’t help. Next error was hostpolicy.dll is not on dotnet directory and that runtimeconfig is missing. So every your update I have to re-download client manually.
Windows 10 + all last patches.

Which version of the client are you using? The windows version or the “universal” version?

Windows 7+ (64-bit)

Strange, that version should not require installing .net core, it has the version that you need bundled with it…

When you re-download it from the site, it works fine though?

It works fine till next autoupdate. And then I need to download it again.

I haven’t encountered the same issue with my machines running that version of the client… I can try bumping the version of the auto-updater and see if that helps next time we do an update.

This is quite odd as that’s most likely the situation most users will be in, that’s the same setup as me and I’ve not had this problem.
I’ve not run a sim for a while so I’ve just fired the client up and queued a sim, I knew it was out of date so I expected an update and that’s what happened.
