Defender's Armor Kit

My druid is specced Guardian first, Feral second. On my trousers I have a “Stormbound Armor Kit” giving me 930 Agility/Strength and 845 stamina. I now learned to leatherwork me a “Defender’s Armor Kit” giving 930 Agility/Strength and 980 Armor (both on Gold level).

AMR prefers the 845 Stamina over the 980 Armor. So I tried to find something on the web that explains to me why Stamina >> Armor for a Guardian, but I didn’t find anything. Most websites I found treat Agility, Armor, and Stamina equally.

Something with “brear form converts stamina to armor on a higher rate” maybe? Or am I missing a point? Any explanation would be appreciated.

I’ll take a look – the defender’s armor kit didn’t get indexed in our list of available enchants, so it isn’t in the list of enchants that it is going to try. We’ll fix that in the next site update.

I tried it out on my development server, and the stamina enchants still rank slightly better. The difference is very small though. Part of the reason is that armor from enchants does not get multiplied by class/spec bonuses like bear form, whereas stamina from enchants does.

Stamina has the advantage of being useful vs. any kind of damage, whereas armor is only useful vs. physical damage in most cases – sometimes that creates a preference for stamina where all else is close to equal.

Also keep in mind: the difference in value between all of the leg enchants is really, really small. There’s no harm in going with whichever enchant you prefer.
