Double Counting Set Prediction Bonus?

I’m looking at options for my vault this week. With Set Bonus Prediction turned on, the Upgrade Finder says my biggest upgrade is the myth track tier chest with a 7.85% DPS increase. That seems excessive, even for a straight 39 ilvl upgrade. So I turned off Set Bonus Prediction, which lowers the increase to 2.61%. That makes more sense to me. But here’s the thing - I already a tier chest piece. It seems like AMR is counting the set prediction bonus for a tier piece I already have. I don’t think it should matter if I have Set Bonus Prediction turn on or off; it should produce the same result. At least that’s what makes sense to my mind.

The Set Bonus Prediction will predict the value were you to complete the full set. You currently own two set items, this would be a third, and Set Bonus Prediction will give a rough estimate of the value were you to get the 4th and activate the 4pc bonus. You can roughly think of the difference between those two scores as the value of the 4pc set bonus.

Agreed, but I already have a tier chest piece. So if I pick a tier chest piece from the vault, I will still only have two distinct tier pieces. Maybe I’m missing something here.

Yeah in this case you would probably want to see the score without the set bonus prediction enabled for that item. We could look into enabling/disabling it on a per-item basis depending on which items you currently own… right now it’s either on or off for the entire ranking operation.

We just posted a small site update that should make this function a little better. It will check item-by-item for whether it should apply the set bonus prediction scoring, and only apply the predicted set bonus value for slots where the item could move you closer to reaching a set threshold.
