Guardien Druid threat probs

Hi

I like the Gearing Strat for my Druid but I have one big Prob. I cant hold the threat against a Warri or Pala Tank. Also a big issue is the “Skittish” affix in M+

Guardian Druid threat is low compared to other tanks.

You can try getting more haste as it can help with threat, but it will just never be as high right now as the other tanks.

Also if you have them, the thrash legendaries are pretty good for helping with threat.

As for skittish…not much to do with this since they just drop threat, make sure to save taunt and don’t pull to big.

TLDR threat is less of a gearing issue, and more of a play style issue.

Do you use omen3 threat meter or similar? I find it super useful to understand my threat vs OT in raid situations, and/or DPS in raid and M+.

Sometimes I’ll “over taunt” to build extra threat on my watch when I notice OT pulls way far ahead on his swap. I’ll do the same in M+ when DPS vastly outgears me, for example.

Are you failing to be able to hold a taunt swap? FWIW taunt mechanic is a hard 3 sec “attack me”, regardless of threat. During that time you generate extra threat.

So what that means is, you will always get 3 seconds. What you do with those 3 seconds will determine what the boss does after. So if you can save up a combo GG and mangle, for example, so you taunt, moon fire, mangle, that’s your max threat gen in 3 sec and sets you up to hold threat after the taunt expires.

For skittish, I find it super helpful to get my group to agree to focus a marked skull target and always switch to attacking that target if they gain aggro on non-skull. This helps a lot with threat mgmt on skittish weeks. Your thrash will hold aggro on non-focused targets and you can pay attn to threat on one. Be sure to move the marker through the group as they die (or use multiple markers). Skittish week is also about having smart DPS. They need to stop attacking things attacking them, bring stuff to melee, don’t open on boss fights with big CDs, etc.

Especially on skittish weeks, be sure to either open with taunt or use it super early, as DPS can get one shot by boss melee, especially on tyrannical like a few weeks ago.
