Having Trouble with BiB

Im not sure why but for the last few weeks BiB has been telling me to run gear sets that it says should be DPS upgrades but they always sim lower than sets Im able to build myself after tweaking with it for usually around 20 min.

It does seem to have something to do with the legendaries I have, it always wants me to equip the legendary boots but they sim much lower than other combinations Ive found.

I too am having an issue regarding my demon Hunter with BiB, my iLvl in game is 909 but on the site when i import it says 882 plus the import data looks kind of short compared to my hunters. when i generate a BiB it says the following message -The specified gearing strategy could not be found: AmrFallenAvatarHeroic|AmrDemonHunterVengeanceDefault|Heroic.

Sounds like your crucible information might not be loaded @gazman0000. Try going in-game and opening your crucible, then export again.

Also, sorry about that bug – we’re transitioning to new adaptive strategies for tanks. To get around it while we roll those out, change to your Vengeance spec on the website, and choose one of the gearing strategies in the picker at the top-middle of the page, press Save. That should fix the issue.

It seems perhaps that the legendary boots value is a bit too high, Im not sure if thats how that works anyway but it does always want me to equip them and they generally sim out lower.

Thanks for the example – does seem a bit further off than desired. We are going to be recalculating all of the hunter gearing strategies soon (this week or next), so I’ll try this case again after we do that, see if it fixes it up.

Now when I optimize my gear it tells me that what it wants me to equip is a -0.10% DPS Downgrade. Not sure what to make of that but it does sim lower than what I currently have on.

I think what is leading to the -0.10% downgrade suggestion is the new BiB score threshold option, that will not spend money on gems(or enchants?) if the overall difference in the set performance is less than 0.5% by default. If I turn that off, it puts a crit gem in the suggested chest piece, resulting in the optimizer expecting a 0.17% increase in dps. I think this has been brought up recently in another thread or on the Discord, and yellow is aware of that type of recommendation happening.

That said, even with the gem the overall set does sim about 2% lower than your current set, making the optimizer recommendation slightly outside of the target margin of error. For that, I’d look for the new strategy when it’s released, and see if the results more closely match the sims.
