Hi, I’m currently questioning the results of the ‘Best in Bags’ advice given to me by askmrrobot.
The reason for this is firstly due to the fact that the char sheet calculated by the simulation results is vastly different from what is actually displayed in my game.
For example, the following Snapshot ID:17f8c36e55f64193b3d22eaa172b719e has a Char sheet of Critical Strike of 15301, Haste of 3241, Mastery of 9467 and Versatility of 2266.
My in-game Critical Strike is 17834, Haste is 3990, Mastery is 12252, and Versatility is 2996.There are no bonuses or buffs in these results.
I think especially on the Cyrce’s Circlet, the Char sheet differences shown on the simulation results are very different from my in-game values. I think askmrrobot may not have perfected the calculation of actual Char sheet variance yet. One of the strangest things is that even when I removed the Cyrce’s Circlet and manually calculated it to take out the effects of Crafted Quality, the Char sheet comparison was still somewhat different. So it’s not actually just Cyrce’s Circlet that’s causing the effect, but in the past this inaccuracy didn’t have as much of an effect and the difference wasn’t huge. But now because of the importance of Cyrce’s Circlet, I think it’s important to clarify the situation.
I left a comment about this under a post about the Cyrce’s Circlet update process, and the response I got was that the Char sheet on the right didn’t affect the actual simulation results, but I think that may not be the case. Before Cyrce’s Circlet, Best in Bags gave roughly the same percentage values as now, for example, Critical Strike should be around 30% instead of the 35% that my in-game game actually shows, and I’ve even had simulations that gave me 40% or so for Strike before.
I found out at WCL by looking at the Char sheet comparisons of the top players that askmrrobot was making Haste too low and Critical Strike too high for the current results, and I think the biggest main reason behind this is because of the incorrect results of the Char sheet.
The other thing is that WCL currently carries Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine as well as Legendary Skipper’s Citrine when you casually browse the entire page of the rankings, in fact, you could say that Legendary Skipper’s Citrine is for team gain, but Stormbringer’ s Runed Citrine might actually be the correct answer even in single-target raiding scenarios, and not Thunderlord’s Crackling Citrine as given by the simulation.
On WCL, for example, Retribution has now mostly switched from Trinket to using Mark of khardros and Skarmorak shard even in single-target raiding scenarios, and the reason for this I think is that Fathomdweller 's Runed Citrine plays a role.
To summarize, I think the current askmrrobot’s accuracy for char sheet needs a lot of fixing, as well as probably the next step in finding the right solution for the benefits of the Cyrce’s Circlet piece of equipment.
The above is a machine rummage, and I thank the studio for their patience in reading it.
I’ll use just your Critical Strike stat as an example.
If I load your snapshot and total up all of the Critical Strike rating showing on your items, gems, and enchants it is:
15,301
This is just basic stats on the items, gems and enchants – it does not include any special effects. When you hover over Critical Strike on our character sheet, this is the “from gear” value that we show. It is a useful number to know that the game does not show you. It is easy to verify this with a calculator by just summing up what you see on the tooltips for each individual item and enchant.
Then, you have some other sources of critical strike from special effects:
- Your two embellishments give 756 when above 80% health, for a total of 1,512
- Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine gives 586 (we are treating all the gems in this item as special effects and thus they do not show up in the character sheet totals)
- Fathomdweller’s Runed Citrine increases that 586 based on your total mastery: I couldn’t find any spell data to indicate exactly how this scales, so I based it on some data kindly provided by another user: I’m using a curve that approximates you would obtain ~671 Critical Strike from your Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine instead of 586
Thus, your total Critical Strike would be:
15,301 + 1,512 + 671 = 17,484
Then, you are a human, so it is increased by 2%:
17,484 * 1.02 = 17,834
That matches what you said the in-game character sheet displays.
We could repeat this exercise for each stat, but I think you’ll find that all of the stats will match.
This is the final value that the optimizer uses when ranking gear. The character sheet on the user interface is just for display purposes, and typically only includes purely static sources of stats, not gains from special effects.
We could look into changing that display if it is causing a lot of confusion… but note that we probably won’t include non-guaranteed sources of stats like your embellishments (sometimes you have the stats, sometimes you don’t).
Thank you very much for your reply and for measuring the time spent. The error that did occur earlier was indeed due to the racial skills of humans.
However, after equipping Cyrce’s Circlet, the error is indeed very large compared to what is actually shown in the game. But if the Char Sheet values shown on the right side of the simulation results do not affect the actual final simulation, then I still trust Mr. Robot. For now, I just hope that Mr.Robot’s values for Cyrce’s Circlet are correct, and look forward to more corrections and optimizations in the future.
Thanks again for your help in answering my questions!
