Also another question.. every guide says stack intellect gems or maybe spell power gem for arcane mage.. but mrrobot is recommending SP red gems and crit/sp yellow gems?? any reason why not int?

As for the gems, all I can say is that the optimizer picks what my calculations found to be optimal.
The difference in value between Intellect and Spell Power is very small. Even the most minor change in any assumption could flip the two. Also, a significant portion of what would make Intellect potentially better than SP is the mana it gives you. This, of course, only matters if that mana will give you enough extra casts to overcome the slightly lower damage/cast. If you were not mana-limited in any way, spell power would be the clear winner. If you play around with the fight length setting on our optimizer, you can find certain fight lengths where it does want a pure intellect gem or two, but not many. Most fight lengths will not prefer pure Intellect gems.
I’ve gone over the calculations we use many times, and I feel good about what we recommend.
One thing I can say with 100% certainty, is that you could do 100 fights with gems we recommend, and then 100 fights with the gems “every guide” recommends, and you would not be able to empirically prove one is better than the other. The difference really is that small.
