We will update the site for the 12.0.7 patch sometime during tomorrow’s maintenance.
Sporefall
The new raid’s loot (including trinket estimates) will be added to all features. Note that this new gear only drops at maximum level with the “sporefused” title – the same item level as an item upgraded with an ascendant voidcore (9 item levels higher than a 6/6 upgrade on that track).
Omnium Folio
This is a new system that will give more power for the remainder of the Midnight expansion. It is like a little additional talent tree, and will take a few weeks to fully unlock.
We are working on fully implementing some kind of user interface and addon import/export for this. It won’t be ready tomorrow because we need more time to test it on live data. Our goal is to have it fully functional before the following raid reset (June 22).
Note that while some nice additional power, we do not anticipate the Omnium Folio will have a big impact on your gearing choices. It seems to be mainly a choice of damage/heal procs that don’t typically interact with gear very much. A couple weeks from now a stat proc choice will be available, and we’ll work on recommending to you which to choose.
Other Stuff
Most of the other new activities in this patch seem like new ways to get existing gear. If we missed anything that you would like to see in the Upgrade Finder, etc., please let us know!
An update on the Omnium Folio:
We will be adding support for reading and optimizing the Omnium Folio as it is unlocked further. Today’s update included an addon update to v175 that can export your currently chosen runes to the website. Under the hood we are estimating a value for your chosen runes, but we aren’t doing any optimization yet.
A few notes on how the Omnium Folio scales and interacts with gear: it doesn’t. It does not scale with any stat, it simply does a flat amount of damage. That is why we aren’t worrying about rushing to optimize it… the damage/heal procs have zero impact on how you play or gear.
The stat proc row (week 4) is a choice you’ll want to make: which stat goes best with your gear? Most of the time you can safely pick your highest stat, but we’ll have something in place to suggest which stat to pick by then. We estimate these will be roughly a 2% output increase, but we’ll do an in-depth simulation of it.
The 1st, 3rd, and 5th rows all roll together to make one damage/heal proc effect. The 3rd row (available tomorrow) roughly doubles the value of the core rune by adding a DoT, except in single target (we’ll test the refresh and targeting behavior thoroughly tomorrow). The 5th row will increase the total proc output by roughly another 50% – you can pick one of three ways to get… the same damage increase. So when fully unlocked you can expect the damage/heal procs to be doing roughly 3x what they were in your last few raids.
Today we posted a UI update with a few tweaks and support for the Omnium Folio.
Omnium Folio
The latest version of the addon (v176 or higher) will export your chosen Omnium Folio runes from the game to the website.
The game does not seem to remember your chosen runes on a per-spec basis which is a little annoying… as I will expect people want a different stat proc depending on spec. For now we are remembering the last-seen runes for each spec, similar to how we remember your last-seen equipped gear for each spec. That is what will show as “equipped” for the Omnium Folio on the website.
Note that you will need to choose a rune in each tier in-game before we see that tier as “unlocked” for you.
On the website you will see your Omnium Folio as a row at the bottom of the gear table below your trinkets. The optimizer will suggest runes and highlight them in a similar way to gems and enchants. You can also click on any rune to manually lock in a choice.
Consumables
This update also adds a section with recommended consumables at the lower-right of the gear results, under the stat display. You can disable any category of consumable in the Customize tab → Buff Options section if you tend not to use them when playing.
Note on Consumable and Omnium Folio Optimization
For both of these things we optimize them “after” we optimize your gear. In other words we first choose your best combination of gear, and then we choose consumables and Omnium Folio runes that best compliment that gear.
We chose to do it this way because consumables and the Omnium Folio are easy to change, whereas gear is a lot harder – it takes a lot of time to run raids and dungeons, get lucky on drops, etc. Thus it makes sense to use these “easy” things to flex around the gear that you have.
There are also situations where you might choose not to use a consumable so it works out better to not make your gear setup reliant on a particular consumable being active.
Custom Setup Feature Moved
We have had an option to save and load custom setups for many years. It is still there! We just moved the buttons to the Customize tab to make room for some of these new UI changes, and beacuse it seemed more logical to centralize it there.
