Options to consider Runes, Oils, Food, Flasks and Potions?

Are there any options to consider Runes, Oils, Food, Flasks and Potions in the calculations? If diminishing returns are avoided in pure gear stats they will definitely occur once additional enhancements are applied. But if there were options to select what type of optional enhancements are used, then the gear strategy could consider these without generating diminishing returns by staying beyond these thresholds.

We automatically include stats from food and flask in the optimization – we use a generic primary stat food and the random stat flask averaged out to all the stats.

Oils are too small to make a difference in the optimization results so we ignore them right now… we could add them for completeness but they will not change optimization results in any significant way.

We don’t include the augment rune right now, but we could… a little bit of primary stat won’t change optimization results either though.

Potions I think we just pick the damage potion or the stat potion depending on role and use it in the opener.

Note that none of these effects are large enough to really care with respect to diminishing returns on secondary stats. Being plus or minus 5000ish rating of a secondary stat will have minimal impact – not enough to make you change your gear choices. You need a LOT of a single secondary stat to even notice the diminishing returns (around 35000 of a single stat you might start to notice), and even then it’s probably not enough to make you change your preferred stats in the majority of cases.

The diminishing returns curve is a gradual reduction as you stack more of a stat, it’s not a hard threshold where all of a sudden there is a sharp decrease in value for that stat, so you don’t need to worry about hitting specific values of secondary stats with regards to the DR curve.
