I confess I’m not a fan of the ‘owned’ feature in Quick Rank and Guild Vault. e.g. If you already have the item even if its a tier or more below it will not give you a percentage rank for the upgrade.
I’ve had numerous ocassions when the Vault had 2 or more Hero tier pieces and I had the corresponding champion pieces and no guidance on which to take.
Had to use the site which must not be named to get guidance on the choice. And they rank purely on DPS - and lots of my alts are tanks, which is where imo AMR particularly excels.
Is there a reason for why AMR decided to do this for TWW as I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the case in DF?
Yeah as reppan said, it should only show “owned” if you could turn one of your existing items into the exact same version of the item. So in the case of owning a Champion item and comparing it to a Hero item, it would only show “owned” if you have limited how far you are allowing the optimizer to upgrade Hero track items.
If that’s not the case, post a snapshot and we can look at your particular setup, maybe something else is going on. You can do so by clicking the “help” link next to the big “Upgrade Finder” section header and copy the 32-digit snapshot ID into a reply here.
I take your point re upgrade level and that e.g., a champion and heroic can both hit 619. However, does that mean that it wouldn’t be useful to see just what impact those additional upgrades would bring.
For context - in my great vault at the moment are a potential 616 1H and a 616 cloak. I have 606 equipped in those slots currently. I get a percentage increase for the cloak (0.32%) but nothing for the 1H as I have a champion version at 603.
If I want to see a ranking for the 1H I have to select Gilded Crests and then it shows a percentage but at 626. Realistically gilded crests are not easily obtainable for the average less hard-core player so that metric is not particularly useful.
You added Cost Efficiency settings to valorstones/crests which is a brilliant feature. But I also use Vault and Quick Rank for its efficiency metric as well i.e., do I take the cloak, the 1 H or instead take the tokens of merit and get 3 runed upgrade levels. Which one has the biggest impact overall - unsure because I don’t have the data to compare - do you see my point?
If you look at the Valorstone/Crest search, it will show you the upgrade value of upgrading your currently owned items, albeit not in the same list as the other Great Vault rewards. It uses the same ranking method though, so you can directly compare it to the Great Vault ranked list.
I can take a look at how it is handling showing “owned” items under the hood… the current functionality was requested by many users – people didn’t want us to suggest choosing a Great Vault reward that they could obtain by upgrading an existing item instead. That said, we should be able to put the item in the list at the location where the upgraded version would be, and still indicate that you own it and could obtain it via upgrading and thus don’t need to take a vault reward or raid drop to obtain it.
If you want to post a snapshot of your case, it always helps for testing these kind of things.
