Questionable Guardian Druid Gear Suggestion

AMR keeps telling me to equip my X’oni’s Caress gloves on my tank spec, this seems very odd to me due to the fact that guardian druids don’t even have Ironbark as an ability. I have other options that just seem better to me all around. Anyone able to collaborate more and possibly explain to me why I’m wrong?? Here’s an export string to my character.

Complete guess, but I’m assuming it’s trying to replace the Luffa Wrappings and the algorithm is looking at weights and the hands have more armour, more stamina and mastery on them, which I suspect is why you’re getting this anomaly. It’s not considering the proc. I’d just force your existing gloves into the slot and lock them so it won’t suggest the resto legendary.

All special effects on all items are considered in the optimizer.

If you’re using one of the defaults based on e.g. Ursoc or Mythic+ which is nearly all physical, it is not surprising that simply getting more armor and stamina could be better than a legendary effect, especially one that is focused more on damage than toughness.

Sometime this week I plan to release a beta of a new type of tank gearing strategy that is designed to get a balance of damage and toughness. I’m seeing a lot of tanks wanting more damage-oriented gear, while staying tough enough to survive. This new technique will help you strike that balance.

I also have a few problems with what is suggested for guardian druids, in my case it suggests to drop the 4piece set which I won’t do anytime soon since it increases my survivability… an option to keep it there no matter what the algorithm thinks is best would be nice.
Also when suggesting trinkets it seems to aim for… dps ?Oo

Guardian Druids have particularly high survivability. From my understanding of the Gearing Strategies, even if you put pure defensive in the Blender, if you have reached 0% chance of death, there is a good chance that the BiB will still suggest more DPS options than Survivability Options.

I cannot check without your string, but if you want to make sure it’s picking more defensive options go to the place in the screenshot here and change the Blender option to “All Toughness.” That should force it to pick more defensive options.

Oh I worded this poorly. By “It’s not considering the proc”, I didn’t mean to imply that the algorithm doesn’t do that, just that in this case the stats are what’s driving the decision to move that legendary into the slot.
