Seal of Diurna's Chosen and Seal of Filial Duty for Shadow Priest?

Both Icy Veins and Wowhead says that “Seal of Diurna’s Chosen” and “Seal of Filial Duty” are BiS if you have “Vakash, the Shadowed Inferno” and the head enchant. However, AMR doesn’t agree. Is it just not that good, or doesn’t AMR take those procs into account?

Right now for specs that don’t do fire damage, we have a special case to allow the Flaring Cowl to trigger the Seal of Diurna’s Chosen.

Seal of Filial Duty we don’t rank the effect for damage classes – if you want to use that for the defensive benefit you would have to lock it in, if the stats on the ring don’t make it good enough on its own.

Seal of Diurna’s Chosen is a 2 rppm effect… so I guess people are finding that if you have two fire triggers (a 2 rppm weapon effect and a 1 rppm enchant effect), it’s enough to get some value out of it…

I ran a little simulation, and with both a 2ppm and 1ppm (Vakash and enchant) fire effect, and accounting for the fact that the ticks of Diurna’s can trigger itself, you could expect to get about half the value from Diurna’s as someone with a more consistent source of fire damage. We can add that in… it won’t be huge, maybe a 0.5-0.75% damage increase, but it could make it rank slightly higher than other rings.

Thanks for looking into this, and it would be appreciated if you can add that in!

We posted an update with some tweaks to this combination of items.
