Shadowlands Pre-Patch Gear Optimization

Usually going in-game and activating each of your specs once, and opening your bank once to refresh any saved data, then export to the website again, will resolve this issue. Let me know if that doesn’t work and we can try some other things to get it fixed.

With version 93 of the addon, it should handle azerite items better for the remainder of the pre-patch. We suggest doing the following, using e.g. a death knight as an example, with a Blood main spec and an Unholy off spec:

  1. Go in-game, activate Blood spec, and equip the azerite items that you wish to use for Blood.
  2. Then activate Unholy spec, and equip the azerite items that you wish to use for Unholy.
  3. Export your gear to the website and optimize – your optimization results for Blood and Unholy will use the azerite items that you had equipped.
  4. Now send to addon – the imported gear sets should now choose the proper azerite items, even if you have two of the same item.

We did an update today with a few tweaks in preparation for Shadowlands. We are trying out a new approach under the hood for dealing with specs that can use either 2-handed or 1-handed weapons (Frost DK, Brewmaster, Windwalker, Fury Warrior).

Give it a try and let us know if you run into any issues – it shouldn’t be much different than before the update, but you might notice a slightly different balance between the rankings of the different weapon types. Don’t get too hung up on that… we’ll inevitably have to change that again as Shadowlands gets closer and Blizzard continues to tune things.
