Should i set my secondary stats or does Ask Mr.Robot choose the best stats for my spec from Archon or anywhere else?
We choose the best stats for you based on a complete simulation model of your spec. (When you press the button to optimize, we actually run thousands of simulations on the fly. These simulations are executing the real rotation that you would be using in-game. Then we use various statistics and algorithms to search all available combinations of gear to find the one that simulates to the highest output.)
This secondary stat feature is a way to override our simulation model if you want to do something specific. While it is a cool way to customize the result, we only recommend using it if you want to do something very specific that is at odds with what our simulation wants to do on its own. The reason is that it can make other features (particularly the upgrade finder) behave in unexpected ways.
It is generally better to try and get the result that you want with other settings first, or even post and let us know if the optimizer is doing something different than you expect first. Usually there is a reason, or we can point you to other options to get what you are looking for.
