Strange % DPS upgrade

Snapshot is a912169e84f34e1d8faf06a86720d67a

Optimizer wants me to swap 2 gems and an enchant, but is then claiming it’s +13.4% DPS to do so, which seems … unlikely, since it’s basically -1% haste and +1% mastery (tiny +0.1% vers) from making the change. If it was +0.5% to DPS or so, I could believe it.

Is there any way to see the computed stat-weights / pawn string type of thing for the secondaries for me given the suggested (or currently equipped) gear? I know they’re not linear/ideal to use but at least it would give me a feeling for which way things are breaking. Warrior at near-max gear seems to have them all ~equal maybe with crit slightly trailing but I feel like I am hitting lots of local-minima cases where I need to swap 4-6 pieces around (and/or a bunch of gems), the DISC belt config, and the reshii wrap socket to eke out a small gain from the view of the optimizer. I do have a very large number of options for a lot of the sockets, so I’m definitely making it work hard.

I also have 3 fury DPS specs in the optimizer (M+, raid-multi and raid-single) that hopefully aren’t making life too hard, they all want ~slightly different gear/stats.

The magnitude of error from the small suggested change then makes it then hard to evaluate some/most upgrade paths / gear combos. Like, the heroic Ara-Kara Sacbrood trinket now shows for me as -12.95% DPS (!!) when it was selected by the optimizer as BiS for me until very recently (I got a champion Astral Antenna, which seems to have started all this in motion). I don’t think it can actually be that far off, and I think the amount is related to this first error where it thinks swapping 2gems+enchant is +13.4%, so I’m wondering if that can be sorted out?

Thanks for the snapshot – yeah you aren’t going to get 13% DPS from some gems and an enchant, I’ll dig into why it is giving this weird scoring in this case and get a fix for it today or tomorrow.

You can get a rough idea of the relative value of your secondary stats at your current gearing point by pressing “send to addon” and looking in the Pawn string at the bottom.

I just posted a website update that should resolve this issue – thanks for bringing it to our attention because it was a very specific case that would have been hard to catch otherwise!

thanks, whatever you did seems to have solved it!

also thank you for pointing out where the pawn string export is, I generally don’t use the “send to addon” method, I do the character gear adjustment manually, for whatever reason it’s just been my habit. so, I’ve never noticed the pawn string there.
