Can anyone explain to me why this recommends a strength enchant for a mage?
I used to really trust AMR for gear optimizations but recently, i am struggling to trust what it tells me.
Any pointers?

If you press the “help” link next to the big Best in Bags section header and post the 32-digit code here that it generates, I can try out your case.
We don’t even examine the strength enchant as an option for mages, so there must be something unusual going on in your case, e.g. you already have that enchant on your item in-game and your settings are such that it is leaving your item as-is.

Above is my code, very embarrassing but i do hope it’s just a bug and i can continue to trust AMR.
Thanks for the snapshot – so the issue here is that you have specified to only use “cheaper” enchants. None of the chest enchants are cheap on most servers, so we don’t recommend changing chest enchants with the “cheaper” enchant option.
You already have the strength enchant on your chest item in-game for whatever reason, so we are leaving it as-is.
That said, I can see how the behavior of the “cheaper” enchant option is a bit confusing – we’ll probably change it in a future update.
If you are trying to save some money on gems and enchants there are better ways to do so with the optimizer. In your case I would suggest setting enchants to “all”, then set the Gem+Enchant threshold to 0.25%. This will keep as many of your current gems and enchants as possible without going more than 0.25% below the fully optimized solution.
You can adjust that Gem+Enchant threshold up and down as you see fit to make it more or less aggressive about saving gold.
Skill issue on my part, that’s hardly surprising….
Thank you for getting back to me and giving me a bit of an insight into how to better use the gem+ench threshold. Much appreciated!
