I have been using Ask Mr Robot for quite some time, and one of my favourite features of this is the Best in Slot feature of the website that allows you to target the type of loot, such as Dungeons, Delves, Raids, etc. However, there is one limitation with the Best in Slot feature that it is missing, that would improve this system massively: there is no simulation data to simulate the DPS of the BiS list.
A few years ago, the simulator was removed from Ask Mr Robot for various reasons - and today I am going to suggest a relatively simple idea, that will massively improve your Best in Slot service going forward.
The suggestion:
After Best in Slot gear is calculated, provide a button to export this data into simulation craft data that can then be used in Raidbots to calculate your overall DPS. This way, you can retain the same functionality as before, but now you can prove that your builds are the best, because now they can be simulated in Raidbots to show they are better than other builds, which would enhance the integrity of the Best in Slot builds you provide.
I am not sure how difficult this would be, but in game, downloading the simulationcraft addon and typing /simc provides a bunch of data you can export to Raidbots. If it was possible to convert the character data from the Best in Slot list into an export for Raidbots to calculate and sim the DPS based on your recommended gear, that for me, would make this a massive improvement than it does currently.
This way, you never need to create a simulator because Raidbots will do the simulation, but focus on making a mathematical model that optimises gear, and have the calculator from Raidbots prove that your builds are best from its simulation models.
