Tank BiB and simming (prot pala)

I got some weird results on BiB for prot pala (attached) suggesting that I drop from 315 ilvl to 288 which seems a bit excessive. I ran a couple of sims with different gear and it seems that low ilvl gear sims better than gear significantly higher.

I am uploading snapshots of the following:

  • BiB results
  • sim main hand (277 ilvl equipped with 395 ilvl alternative which sims worse - note all simmed alternatives to the equipped are 395 ilvl)
  • sim off-hand (335 ilvl equipped with 400 ilvl alternative which sims worse - note all simmed alternatives to the equipped are 400 ilvl)

I would appreciate some support with the following:

  1. Please explain the behaviour described above
  2. Please clarify why occasionally the BiB results for prot pala propose retribution azerite traits (requiring abilities that are obviously not available on prot spec)

Expanding a bit on question 2 above, sometimes instead of retribution traits it proposes generic (non-retribution) dps traits over prot traits as is the case in the attached pic where it proposes “Dagger in the Back”.

I had something similar to yours, I think the BiB engine may still be keeping active the legendary traits. Or maybe not…who knows…

Mine was even worse, took me from ilvl 350 to 177 and for ex. it had a 370 weapon replaced by a lvl 72??? I tried to get the screenshot to load but it was fighting me and too tired to mess with it, but this is BAD.
