TBC Shadow Priest // AMR suggesting downgrades

Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well.

I’m seeing what appears to be an inconsistent optimization result for my TBC Shadow Priest.

Issue:
The optimizer recommends a gear set that drops my average item level from 109 to 91/92, replacing several 70 blue items with much lower-level or older items, for example:

  • Shattrath Wraps (115) → Glacial Wrists (80)

  • Neck 115 → Drakefire Amulet (63)

  • Cloak 112 → Onyxia Scale Cloak (60)

When I hover over the wrist slot, the item list ranks Shattrath Wraps as +1.90% DPS compared to the currently selected Glacial Wrists, yet the optimizer still equips Glacial Wrists. Same behavior with some other slots.

I deleted the profile then reimported it without success. I’d also mention that I don’t have this issue with other chars or even with this char on holy spec.

Could you please advise? Am I missing something?

Something does look wrong here. This seems to be hitting on a bug I fixed a really long time ago… not sure how it’s popping up again. Obviously I missed some sort of edge case your gear is triggering. I will look into it this week.

For the time being, you can work around it to get a good optimization by changing the fight length. Setting it to 90 seconds gets good-looking results. I’ll try to get a fix up Monday that handles all fight lengths well.

I’ll post a fix for this with the 12.1 site update on Tuesday. Sorry for the delay… this one ended up being harder to fix than anticipated. Largely because I wrote this code like… 4 years ago!
