Trinket Confusion

Best in Bags is selecting a 355 trinket over a 415 trinket. I generally trust AMR, but this one feels weird to me. Does anyone know why the lower ilvl trinket would be chosen? On my end, I only have Arcane spec selected and single target gearing strategy selected.

On Int. alone it should pick the 415; my guess is that the 415’s +Avoid & the proc is valued less that the 375’s +Crit ‘on use’…

Agreed, except it’s a 355 trinket. Which makes the gap all that strange. At 375 I would say ok, yeah, on-use might over power it, but a 60 ilvl difference?

So the optimiser is getting fooled by something here too, some of the Shadow Priest traits have been throwing spanners at the optimiser too.
I’m sure @Swol and/or @yellowfive will want to have a look at this.

I’ll take a look at it – we’re actually working on this a bit… it can be tough for the optimizer to perfectly predict how two on-use trinkets will interact with each other. But we have some improvements almost finished.

In this case… I think the Best in Bags solution is actually simulating lower than it should – it should give a result much closer to the equipped gear. We’re working on tweaking the simulator to handle different combinations of on-use trinkets. Generally it’s such a pain to use two on-use trinkets that people avoid it… in this case, using Lion’s Guile with Sea Giant’s Tidestone is very close in value to the equipped gear, and less annoying to use.

Either way, we’re working on it!

Also, when you post your addon export string for us to check out, you don’t need to remove the dollar signs on either end – makes it easier to copy and paste if you leave it as-is.
