I’m using the down time to gear up my lower level toons. The only thing I can use now is the update the gear in my bag feature with the line “wait until the next xpac”
Is it possible to put the Dragonflight update feature in so I can get my toons levelled without having to use some other site or sim…also the bullion recommendations, raid upgrade, catalyst…the usual stuff…nothing new, just the ability to use the old stuff. Thank you.
Pre-patches are always a bit awkward… all of the calculations that we did for Dragonflight don’t apply anymore. Many talents and core abilities changed, stat scaling changed, and so on.
We are working on The War Within updates for all of this… but even that is not relevant for the pre-patch. Everything is balanced around level 80 characters, with level 80 gear, and full hero talent trees. So any calculations we do for the new patch won’t be quite right either…
… and then… the pre-patch only lasts a few weeks. There’s not enough time to develop a model specifically for the pre-patch, so we tell people: don’t worry too much about it. All the gear you get from now until Aug 26th won’t matter anyway… takes just a few hours of leveling in the new xpac to replace most of it anyway.
To my knowledge, there is no other site or simulation that does any updates specifically for the pre-patch… it is a short-lived transitional state.
Best in Bags should be good enough for leveling up characters… it will recommend some gear from whatever you have acquired. It won’t be a perfect optimization, but it will generally favor higher overall quality gear, which is good enough for transitioning into a new expansion.
You typically don’t need to go out of your way to find upgrades in a pre-patch… the early leveling content of the next expansion is usually quite easy and rewards you with higher ilvl loot that will replace all of your stuff in short order.
