Hey,
every crest upgrade for my avg 228 itemlevel adventurer item is a downgrade according to upgrade finder.
upgrading my rings from 224 to 237 would be a -0.21% loss.

Well, that is obviously wrong. Sorry about that. We will investigate this today and post a fix ASAP.
There must be something going on with the upgrade finder specifically. If i do a BiS with 237 adventurer items, it certainly shows a set of 237 gear as an upgrade, so the underlying simulation is getting a good answer.
If I had to guess… something is going on with the “reference” set the upgrade finder is comparing the score to. Most likely this is a display error.
Just wanted to chime in, I’m also getting the same issue. Nothing shows as an upgrade.

We both tried your snapshot and we see everything showing as an upgrade for this one. Still working on the OP case. This is what I see with your snapshot, are you seeing something different?
I’m working on this case – we should have a fix later today. It is proving to be a little tricky unfortunately… so the update might be pretty late in the day.
We just posted a site update that should resolve this issue.
@nemo296 This is a different issue – the efficiency ranking will show N/A when you either have something better than that item already, or the upgrade would be free (cost no crests, we ignore the gold cost).
This update fixes an issue where Adventurer track upgrades were not getting a proper cost and thus they would always show as N/A.
In a future update I’d like to improve the messaging on this “most efficient” ranked list, and perhaps make the inputs for it more intuitive.
Hey,
wanted to add a Snapshot that have a minus Upgrade too.
Snapshot: 4fd38d652dad44219d5eed90d8913654
I tried that snapshot and I’m not seeing upgrades showing with a negative value… could you give me some more information? Which spec were you optimizing, and which Upgrade Finder search were you using?
Hey,
I used my resto spec and was using the crests upgrade finder. Here is a new Snapshot and a picture.
The Staff for guardian and trinket i can comprehend but not the neck.

This particular case I think is just a strong preference for mastery over crit when doing healing-oriented optimizations. Jewelry slots are less sensitive to item level because they lack primary stats, so which stats are on the item will tend to have a bigger impact.
We do have a significant update for resto druids coming in the next day or so. We really needed to get some live data to finish up the healer models – we have been working on them all week and plan to have a round of updates by Tuesday. It’s possible that the current model is being a bit too extreme with its stat preferences.
In general you can move the strategy slider towards DPS to reduce its preference for mastery for healer specs. That slider can be a bit “all or nothing” right now though – you’ll notice a point where it suddenly flips what stats it wants. We’re trying to smooth it out a little to allow a wider range of easy customization.
Hey,
thanks for clarification.
