Apologies if this is user error, I’m just getting back into WOW more seriously and I’m scrutinizing the results of Mr. Robot’s optimizations and I’m getting very weird suggestions. With Disc priest as my primary spec, it wants me to take off an iLvl 639 wrists and replace them with a 600 wrists – the net stat changes if I did this would be -650 int, -5739 int, +98 haste, -298 mastery. I can’t imagine that 98 haste is worth 650 int. It also doesn’t seem to like my season 2 tier set, e.g. it is telling me to break my 2/4 tier bonus and replace my 639 tier chest with a 619 explorer chest.
I feel like these are just clearly wrong and so it makes me doubt the rest of the sim results. Am I missing something? My snapshot ID is: efc8811e6ee540128d151b65f4612d25
I’ll take a look at it. If you fill out your talent build (right now there are 12 unspent points), it gets better, but still does something pretty unexpected. Switching to the oracle hero tree, I don’t see any problems. So, that leads me to think that maybe there is something fiddly going on with the timing of entropic rift and the collapsing void. There might be some sort of inflection point going on where changing haste just a little bit causes the collapsing void to time up differently.
Thanks for the snapshot, I’ll use this case to test and smooth out the results.

Ah, all my talents are updated in game but I guess not in Mr. Robot. I just did that (by hitting “Use Last Imported Talents”) and it does look like the results are better. Is that something I need to be doing on the Mr. Robot site anytime I update my talents in-game?
I upgraded my chest and it’s back to being strange – snapshot: 2dc735f7dd414bf28cd13b79f528e640
It once again seems to be trying to way overoptimize for haste, but what’s strange is if I force one of the ring enchants to be radiant haste (I tried this because it was telling me to take off Cyrce’s Circlet) and then hit Re-Optimize, it then just resets to be my current setup and ignores my ring enchant override: 561f85fa0f2b46e3a59c0d4134248672
If I then force it to use radiant haste again and hit re-optimize, it remembers my enchant override and gives me what looks like plausible suggestions: 92b30db5c1734221ae500b5d8a127e21
I confirmed my talents are setup correctly on the website.
Yeah, it’s getting stuck on a haste breakpoint. I’m working on a way to smooth it out. Discipline is very sensitive to fiddly timing issues because we’re trying to fit everything inside a specific atonement window.
I found the problem and we will post an update today sometime that fixes this issue.
I am curious as to how you feel doing m+ with Darkening Horizon instead of Void Empowerment. Darkening Horizon extends the rift to an awkward duration such that atonements put up by PW: Radiance will drop off before the collapse. That is, unless you cast mind blast first, then use radiance while the rift is up, which feels sub-optimal to me. My calculations to handle that case were a little off, which is what led to this issue. With void empowerment you can cast radiance, then mind blast right after and have the collapse happen inside the atonement duration. It felt to me like void empowerment was designed around this more frequent mini-burst combo that is more common in M+
To me, darkening horizon seems like an annoying talent combo to play around in m+. But, maybe it isn’t so bad in practice? I haven’t leveled my priest yet in TWW to try it out myself in real M+ content. My calculations indicate that you can get slightly more healing and better total damage with Void Empowerment.
I’ve not done any M+ yet (just M0) so it’s hard to answer, but my understanding of the rotation (I’m using Automatic Jak’s build/rotation for disc) is that I’m casting mind blast to get the void, penance, 4x void blast/smite, penance, then can maybe sneak a final void blast in. Each void blast extends an active atonement so I think they should be up when the rift collapses. Maybe I’m missing something?
Ah, yeah, the new (in 11.1) Divine Procession talent - my comments were in the context of not having that talent. Makes sense that with that talent, Darkening Horizon works out better.
