I have two identical myth track “Emberwing Feathers” that are unique equipped. One is fully upgraded and voidforged.
The interface says I should fully upgrade and voidforge the second one. I would never be able to equip both. I would only end up with exactly what I have now after the expenditure and wasting a void core.

This is the cleanest example of the issue I’ve seen in other toons. I would like to get it resolved rather than checking my bags and bank for duplicates for each upgrade recommeneded.

This could be a similar case to your other thread, where the upgrade option for best in bags is not favoring the cheaper-to-upgrade item when there are identical items available to the optimizer.
I can look at it in more detail when I return from vacation, but I think a post-processing step to swap cheaper but identical items can resolve this.
I think that I found the cause of this issue – the ascendant voidforged items are handled a little differently in-game, and it was causing an incompatibility in the optimizer such that when we manually adjusted an item to be ascendant it didn’t quite match the form from the game, and thus it didn’t see them as “identical” items. This prevented our existing code to detect zero-value changes from working. Our update later today will resolve this.
