Tradeskills appear to not be taken into account. The BiS tool is recommending Blacksmithing, Tailoring, and Leatherworking items as a Hunter. Ideally, you’d identify my professions and adjust, or allow me boxes to use my current professions or suggest items using professions I don’t currently have learned.
Also, something to force Mail, Leather, or any wearable armor type might be preferred. Personally, I’d like to wear Mail only so as to not plan to take away gear from Druids and Rogues.

Blade of the Archmage seems to be missing from the upgrade finder for reputation items.

One issue with the addon for both Classic and TBC is that we can’t import professions. I’m going to see if I can figure it out… but I had no luck with Classic.
You can manually choose your professions by pressing the “hamburger” to the left of your character name. Choose blacksmith, then the weapon should show up.

Also, we could probably add an option for BiS to limit it to your class’s main armor type.
Looks like we missed the item source information for that item. We’ll add it in the next update.
I’m super excited that the optimizer is finally available, thanks for your hard work! My feedback so far is only item related:
- Alchemist’s Stone is not available in the item list, and it’s not even recognized when importing (it shows up as blank).
- Idol of Brutality is considered BiS by many for bear tanking. It is recognized when importing, but it doens’t show up in the item list. I imagine because it’s a drop from Stratholme.
- The optimizer is recommending Idol of Terror, even though it’s not phase 1. I know that wowhead also claims it’s phase 1 but it really is currently unavailable.
- The optimizer is recommending Badge of Tenacity even though it’s not phase 1. Wowhead claims it’s phase 3.

I noticed that for Guardian druids resilience is not considered to reach crit immunity!
It is a big thing for Bears to wear PVP items with resilience to reach crit immunity.
Would be amazing if you could add this to the crit immunity constraint.
The formula is the following: resilience / 103 + defense / 154 >= 1
Belt of Depravity is marked as a normal dungeon drop
Hunter weapon BIS and Pet calc
Adamantite weighstones are not shown. they provide BOTH crit and dam to ranged weapon which is why fist weapons for the most part will out dps edged weapons, sharpening stones only provide damage to range weapon.
Pets need lovin too… should show scrolls and food buffs on them as well as Raid buffs.

We do consider resilience in the calculation for crit immunity. If it is not picked, that is because we don’t think those items will be optimal.
Are you using the customize feature to force crit immunity?
Make a thread specific to this and post a snapshot id. With that we can take a look at what you are seeing.

- It’s telling me that Potency is a better weapon enchantment than Mongoose—it’s not.
- It’s also saying that Dexterity is a better boot enchantment than Cat’s Swiftness which doesn’t make sense as the extra movement speed is extremely important for melee to help stay on/move between targets.
- It’s suggesting Scryer shoulder enchants even though I’ve chosen Aldor. It’d be nice if this was detected automatically or an option added to select alongside your professions.
- The recommend gemming isn’t taking into account the meta gem’s (Relentless Earthstorm Diamond) requirements as it’s suggesting I use nothing but yellow gems even though two of each type are needed.
- +8 Strength (Bold Living Ruby) should be valued higher than +8 Critical Strike Rating (Smooth Dawnstone) according to everything I’ve looked at.
- It’s recommending I break my two piece tier four set bonus. Is it taking this bonus (“Your Strength of Earth Totem ability grants an additional 12 strength.”) into account when doing so? It not only helps me, but my party as well.
- I’m also dubious about the ring and trinket suggestions. Crit seems overvalued and expertise may be undervalued.

It helps us more if you post a snapshot id (use the help link just above the gear table). That way I can see all the setting you are using.
We don’t factor in non-dps related benefits, so you should lock in the move speed enchant if that is your preference.
I’ll look into what we can do about detecting aldor vs scryer specific enchants.
As far as slight differences between our recommendations and what other sources recommend: that is expected to some degree. We do take into account all the set bonuses and meta gem requirements. The meta gems aren’t always very good, so it might score better (or almost the same) to just ignore them. The difference in value between a +8 strength and +8 crit gem is very small. There is no way to eyeball that. It makes sense to me that crit would be a good stat when you have lower levels of crit on your gear to keep flurry and unleashed rage up as often as possible.
On-use haste effects are not scoring well in the optimizer. I don’t think they are as good as people think they are (thought they were) in general.
I’ve noticed the optimizer wants a lot of hit rating for arcane mage, I suspect that the Arcane Focus talent may not be calculating properly?
It’s also recommending changing [Spellfire Robe] to [Robe of the Elder Scribes] - is the spellfire 3/3 set bonus working?
